Bunraku puppet theater. Historical piece. Five acts. Commonly known as "Kishihime." A collaboration between Toyotake Oritsugu, Wakatake Fuemune, Fukumatsu Tosuke, Asada Ittori, Kurokurasu, and Namiki Eisuke. First performed at the Toyotakeza Theater in Osaka in leap April 1762 (12th year of the Horeki era). The main cast included Toyotake Kanetayu in the innermost part of the second act, Toyotake Wakatayu in the final act of the third act, Toyotake Komatayu in the final act of the fourth act, and others. The puppets were Wakatake Tokuro as Tokimasa, Kasai Otogoro as Tsukasahime, Wakatake Isaburo as Asahina, and others. The subject matter is the conflict between the Hojo and Minamoto clans. The final act, "Asahina's messenger," is an elaborate adaptation that combines the third act (Benkei's messenger) from "Gose Sakura Horikawa Youchi" (The Night Attack at the Imperial Palace, Horikawa) and the seventh act (Funaokayakata) from "Hana Keizu Miyako Kagami." 人形浄瑠璃。時代物。5段。通称《岸姫》。豊竹応律,若竹笛躬,福松藤助,浅田一鳥,黒蔵主,並木永輔の合作。1762年(宝暦12)閏4月大坂豊竹座初演。おもな配役は二段目奥を豊竹鐘太夫,三段目詰を豊竹若太夫,四段目詰を豊竹駒太夫その他。人形は時政を若竹東工郎,司姫(つかさひめ)を笠井音五郎,朝比奈を若竹伊三郎その他。北条家と源家との紛争を題材とする。三段目詰〈朝比奈上使〉は《御所桜堀川夜討》の三段目切〈弁慶上使〉と《花系図都鑑》の七段目〈舟岡館〉とを取り合わせて趣向をこらした翻案。
