...Some works are written as Kohina. The first adaptation was Karasaki Shinju, composed and performed by the first Miyako Icchu. On stage, the kabuki play Biwa no Umi Hatsu Tsukei Bundan (Eight Views of Lake Biwa Bundan) premiered in July 1766 (Meiwa 3) at the Ogawa Kichitaro Theater (the northern theater) in Kyoto, and the puppet theater plays Tanaka Gocho's Keisei Naniwa Oda Maki (Cute Naniwa Wo Damaki) premiered in October 1768 at the Amidaike Gate Theater in Osaka, and Hachitami Heishi's Koina Hanbei Sato no Iroage (Small Red Light District) premiered in November at the Amidaike East Theater....
