Karasake

…It is a liquid acidic seasoning that contains acetic acid, and is also called vinegar. It is thought to have originated from rancid sake, and in ancient China it was called "kushu" (bitter sake), and in Japan it was called "karasake." The English word "vinegar" also means "sour grape wine."
