Its origins lie in the rice-cooking system of China and Korea, and it was introduced in the second half of the 5th century and has since been called the "Karakamado (Han hearth)." In the second half of the 6th century, some Baekje immigrant clans who claimed to be descendants of the Han royal family had a custom of placing miniature Karakamados in ancient tombs, and they became symbols of the hearth of the underworld, cooking rice for the dead, and the passing of fire between the living and the dead. ...
