Kanaya stone

...The rock peaks of sandy tuff, which are connected like sawtooth, have long been used as a landmark for ships entering Tokyo Bay. Since the Edo period, the area has produced building stone known as Boshu stone and Kanaya stone, but it has declined due to the advancement of Oya stone. At the summit, there is a quarry cliff called Jizo Nozoki and the Jikshu Ichirandai platform with a good view. On the southern slope, there is Nihon-ji Temple, which is said to have been founded by Gyoki, and the 1,500 Arhats of the Tokai region, carved by stonemason Oono Jingorō of Kazusa Province in the late modern period.
