Among the most important artists were Delacroix, Daumier, Cézanne, Van Gogh, Signac, and Moreau, and towards the 20th century, Rouault, Dufy, Segonzac, Klee, and Nolde, as well as Homer, Maurice Prendergast (1859-1924), and John Marin (1870-1953) in the United States.
