[Senbonshimeji mushroom]
A closely related species of Honshimeji is Senbonshimeji (also called Shakashimeji, Kabushimeji, and Komochishimeji) L. fumosum (Fr.) Orton, which grows in large numbers from thick, tuberous stems. It grows in broadleaf forests or mixed forests with pine trees in autumn, slightly earlier than Honshimeji.
