Kaneko Ietada

Japanese: 金子家忠 - かねこいえただ

1138-1213? A military commander from the late Heian to Kamakura period.
Born in the fourth year of the Hoen era. During the Hogen Rebellion, he fought alongside Minamoto no Yoshitomo and killed Takama Saburo and Shiro. During the Heiji Rebellion, he fought alongside Yoshitomo's eldest son, Yoshihira, against the Taira clan. When Minamoto no Yoritomo raised an army in 1180, he followed Kawagoe Shigeyori and defeated Miura Yoshiaki, who was on Yoritomo's side. He later served Yoritomo and participated in the Battle of Yashima. He died in the first year of the Kenpo era. He was 76 years old. He was commonly known as Juro.

保延(ほうえん)4年生まれ。保元(ほうげん)の乱に源義朝に属して出陣し,高間三郎・四郎を討つ。平治の乱には義朝の長男義平にしたがって平氏とたたかう。治承(じしょう)4年(1180)源頼朝が挙兵すると,河越重頼にしたがい,頼朝方の三浦義明を攻略。のち頼朝につかえ,屋島の戦いに参加。建保元年？死去。76歳？通称は十郎。
