Kaneko Ietada

Kaneko Ietada
1138-1213? A military commander from the late Heian to Kamakura period.
Born in the fourth year of the Hoen era. During the Hogen Rebellion, he fought alongside Minamoto no Yoshitomo and killed Takama Saburo and Shiro. During the Heiji Rebellion, he fought alongside Yoshitomo's eldest son, Yoshihira, against the Taira clan. When Minamoto no Yoritomo raised an army in 1180, he followed Kawagoe Shigeyori and defeated Miura Yoshiaki, who was on Yoritomo's side. He later served Yoritomo and participated in the Battle of Yashima. He died in the first year of the Kenpo era. He was 76 years old. He was commonly known as Juro.
