〘Noun〙 Under the ritsuryo system, one of the miscellaneous households. They belonged to the blacksmith office of the Imperial Household Ministry, and in exchange for being exempt from paying tax, they served the Imperial Court from October to March of the following year, and were engaged in the manufacture of copper and ironware (weapons, pots and pans, coins, etc.). 〘名〙 令制で、雑戸の一つ。宮内省の鍛冶司に属し、調庸徭を免じられるかわりに毎年一〇月から翌年三月まで朝廷に出仕して銅鉄器（兵器・鍋釜・銭貨など）の製造に従事。かぬちべ。かじへ。かぬちこ。〔令義解（718）〕
