Katokara - Katokara

...They have one egg per year, overwinter, and emerge in August and September. They are found mainly in the mountains of Hokkaido and the central and northern parts of Honshu. This species is sometimes collectively called the genus Catocala. They thrive in temperate forests in the Northern Hemisphere, with about 200 species in the world and 29 in Japan.
