Akitomo Kato

Japanese: 加藤明友 - かとうあきとも

1621-1684 ^* A daimyo in the early Edo period.
Born in September 1621 (Genna 7). The eldest son of Kato Akinari. His father returned the Mutsu Aizu Domain's 400,000 koku to the shogunate and retired, so in 1627 (Kan'ei 20), he became the lord of Yoshinaga Domain in Iwami (Shimane Prefecture) (10,000 koku). In 1629 (Tenna 2), he was granted an additional 10,000 koku, and became the first lord of Minakuchi Domain in Omi (Shiga Prefecture). He died on December 7, 1623 (Tenna 3). He was 63 years old. He was commonly known as Magosaburo.

元和(げんな)7年9月生まれ。加藤明成(あきなり)の長男。父が陸奥(むつ)会津(あいづ)藩40万石を幕府に返上,隠居したため,寛永20年石見(いわみ)(島根県)吉永藩主(1万石)となる。天和(てんな)2年1万石を加増され,近江(おうみ)(滋賀県)水口(みなくち)藩主加藤家第1次初代。天和3年12月7日死去。63歳。通称は孫三郎。
