Kappo - Kappo

...It is used by young girls in formal attire and by geisha in Gion, Kyoto. In the Kanto region, the first sound is often a p, as in pokkuri and pakka, while in the Kansai region, it is often a k, as in koppoli, kobokobo, and kappo. In Aomori Prefecture, they are called gappa, and in Nagano Prefecture, they are called ponpon, both of which are named after the sound made when walking in these geta.
