Katsuhisakan - Katsuhisakan

Japanese: 可否茶館 - かつひーさかん
Katsuhisakan - Katsuhisakan

... Coffee began to be drunk in Japan after the Meiji period. At first, it was only enjoyed by a very limited number of people, but in 1888, the first coffee shop, Katsuhi Sakan, opened in Kuromon-cho, Ueno, Tokyo, and started serving coffee. In 1911, Café Printemps and Café Paulista opened in the Ginza district of Tokyo, and coffee gradually became more popular among the general public, with the latter in particular promoting Brazilian coffee.
[Instant coffee]
Before World War II, enjoying coffee at home was extremely rare in Japan, but now it has become quite commonplace.

[Japanese Cafe]
The first coffee shop in Japan was the Kahisakan, which opened in Kuromon-cho, Shita-ya, Tokyo, in April 1888 (Meiji 21), but it wasn't until 1911 that cafes or shops calling themselves cafes appeared. In the spring of that year, Cafe Printemps opened in Hiyoshi-cho, Ginza, followed by Cafe Lion on the corner of Owari-cho in Ginza in August, and Cafe Paulista in Minaminabe-cho in November.

[Japan]
The origins of coffee shops in Japan were imitations of soda fountains, European establishments serving soft drinks, and cafes, Parisian establishments serving coffee. In 1888 (Meiji 21), a cafe imitation called Kafusakan opened in Kuromon-cho, Shita-ya, Tokyo, but it was too early and had few customers, so it soon closed. Starting with Cafe Paulista, which opened in Minaminabe-cho, Ginza, Tokyo, in 1911, cafes appeared in entertainment districts in Tokyo and Osaka at the end of the Meiji period as establishments serving coffee and other drinks.
