Talc imitation - Talc imitation

[Middle Kofun Culture]
In the middle of the Kofun period, clan chiefs began to clearly show their character as political rulers. Looking at the changes that appeared in the grave goods, the number of formal talc imitations increased, replacing the vessels that had previously been like treasures. The stage in which the priest-like chiefs presided over mystical ceremonies with specific treasures progressed to a stage in which the general public repeated formal ceremonies by offering imitation vessels.
