Kawamata Dam - Kawamata Dam

A multipurpose dam located upstream of the Kinugawa River in Nikko City, northwest of Tochigi Prefecture. It is an arch dam with a height of 117m, a length of 131m, and a usable water storage capacity of 73.1 million m3 . It was completed in 1965. Lake Kawamata and Lake Ikari regulate the water volume of the Kinugawa River and are used for flood prevention and irrigation. It is also home to the Kawamata Power Station, with a maximum output of 27,000 kW. 栃木県北西部，日光市の鬼怒川上流にある多目的ダム。アーチダムで，高さ 117m，長さ 131m，有効貯水量 7310万m3。 1965年に完成。川俣湖は五十里湖 (いかりこ) とともに鬼怒川の水量を調節し，洪水防止，灌漑に利用。川俣発電所があり，最大出力2万 7000kW。
