Trochlear nerve

Trochlear nerve
The fourth cranial nerve originates from the midbrain, enters the eye socket , and is distributed to the superior oblique muscle. It is called this because the superior oblique muscle was formerly called the trochlear muscle. It is a motor nerve that moves the eyeball. [Medical Words Ruiju (1872)]
