Armillary Sphere

...The armillary sphere, created by Guo Shoujin of the Yuan Dynasty around 1276 (Zhiyuan 13), was faithfully copied during the Ming Dynasty from 1437 to 1442, and the armillary sphere that remains at the Purple Mountain Observatory in Nanjing is a faithful reproduction of this model. A similar observational instrument to the armillary sphere is the armillary sphere, which is said to have been invented by the ancient Greek Eratosthenes, and later T. Brahe also made an armillary sphere to observe the planets.
