〘Noun〙 One of the titles of the Edo Shogunate. It was established in 1633 under the Finance Magistrate to control the river boats that operated on the Tone River and other rivers in the Kanto region, and was responsible for changing the seals on the river boats and collecting annual taxes and duties. It was abolished in 1720 and replaced by a new river boat control organization. 〘名〙 江戸幕府の職名の一つ。利根川を中心とする関東諸河川に就航する川船を支配するため寛永一〇年(一六三三)勘定奉行の下に設置され、川船の極印改めや年貢、役銀の徴収にあたった。享保五年(一七二〇)廃止され、新しい川船支配機構に改められた。〔財政経済史料‐四・交通・水運・造船・貞享四年(1687)〕
