Giorgio da Castelfranco was an Italian painter and one of the most important masters of the Venetian High Renaissance. His real name was Giorgio da Castelfranco. There is little information available about his life and works, making it extremely difficult to determine their authenticity, their dating, or to clarify the iconographical meaning of his themes.
