...Its Chinese name is the Yili River. The Tekes River, which flows east from the north side of the Tianshan's main peak, Khan Tengri (6,995m), joins the Kunges River from the eastern Tianshan to form the Ili River, which then joins the Kash River to flow through the Ili Basin in the northwest of China's Xinjiang region, and then east to northwest through the Republic of Kazakhstan, emptying into the eastern shore of Lake Balkhash in the south. Its total length is about 1,400 km (including the Tekes River)....
