〘Noun〙 A haori coat worn in the event of a fire in the Edo period. Those worn by samurai were made like jinbaori (battle robe) from kusube skin, ramie, or shina , and had a family crest attached. Those worn by townspeople were made like tsutsusode haori (a long-sleeved coat) made of navy blue cotton with the name of the group or occupation written in white.
