A language spoken in the Republic of Karelia, Russia. There are two (3) dialects: the Karelian proper, the Olonetsian, and the Ludic. None of them have a written form. A Baltic-Finnic language of the Finno-Ugric branch of the Uralic language family. There are about 90,000 speakers.
