...There are edible mushrooms in the Shimeji genus, but it is difficult for amateurs to tell them apart, so it is best not to eat mushrooms with pink gills. Edible mushrooms include R. crassipes (Imaz.et Toki) Imaz.et Hongo (illustration) and R. clypeatus (Fr.) Quél. (also known as Haru Shimeji). The former grows in the same woodland as R. crassipes and R. aristolochiae, and is therefore particularly important.
