Sugar cubes

A type of sugar product. It is named after the fact that it is sugar solidified into a square shape. The standard shape is about 5 grams per piece, but it comes in a variety of sizes, and flower-shaped, round, and other shapes are on the rise. It is made by adding a saturated granulated sugar solution to granulated sugar to moisten it, compressing it into a shape using a mold-cutting machine, and drying it with hot air at around 60°C.

砂糖加工品の一つ。四角い形に固めた砂糖であるところからこの名がある。標準形は1個5グラム程度であるが、大きさにも大小いろいろあるほか、花形、円形など各種の形態のものが増加した。製法はグラニュー糖に飽和グラニュー糖水溶液を加えて湿り気を与え、型抜き機で圧縮して形にし、60℃内外で熱風乾燥する。
