…Around 1786 (Tenmei 6), he strongly criticized the Ise no Hito Motoori Norinaga, whom he had always distrusted, for his ideas of absolute imperial rule, mainly in his reviews of Norinaga's book Kenkyojin, and Norinaga responded sharply.
