Japanese: カウントダウン（英語表記）count down

A term used for the final stage of rocket launch preparation work. The launch time is set to midnight, the current time is displayed as the time remaining until launch, and all preparation work is carried out by the launch time. On the day of launch, the launch time is set to X-0 o'clock, and the countdown work is carried out. For example, 5 seconds before launch is called X-5 seconds. This final stage of countdown work is called the terminal countdown work to distinguish it from the normal work.

ロケット発射整備作業の最終段階で使われる用語。打ち上げ時刻を0時として，現在時刻を打ち上げまでの残り時間で表示し，打ち上げ時刻までにすべての準備作業を行なう。打ち上げ当日は，打ち上げ時刻をX-0時として，秒読み作業を行なう。たとえば，打ち上げ5秒前はX-5秒と呼ぶ。この最終段階の秒読み作業は，通常の作業と区別して，ターミナルカウントダウン作業と呼ぶ。
