The excretory organ of most polychaetes and oligochaetes is the nephridia, a long, curved tube that connects the body cavity to the outside world. The opening into the body cavity is the nephrostomy, and the opening outside the body is the exonephric hilus. The nephridia are funnel-shaped and densely covered with cilia.
