An Indian Buddhist scholar and master of Yogacara. His Sanskrit name was Śīlabhadra. He became a disciple of the guardian deity Goho at a young age, and after his death he led the school for a long time as its highest leader. Although his writings are not known, his academic style is considered to have inherited the true lineage of the guardian deity Goho. Legend has it that he established the Sanjikyohan, which advocated the highest form of Mahayana Buddhism, and debated with Chikō, a scholar of the Madhyamaka school, which advocated the highest form of Mahayana Buddhism. Xuanzang also traveled to India and met Kaixian (who was said to be 106 years old at the time), where they studied Yogacara and Inmyo closely, and after returning to Japan, he introduced this to China and established the Hosso sect.
