Xiangyang - Jyoyo

It is the county seat of the same name, located south of Mount Seorak on the east coast of Gangwon Province, South Korea. It lies north of the 38th parallel and was incorporated into South Korea after the Korean War. Its fisheries are large, including squid, pollock, yellowtail, and seaweed. Yangyang Iron Mine is one of the largest in South Korea in terms of both facilities and production volume, and the magnetite ore mined is sent to the Pohang Iron and Steel Works (Pohang Iron and Steel Works). 韓国，江原道の東海岸沿い，雪岳山の南にある同名の郡の郡庁所在地。38度線の北にあり，朝鮮戦争後韓国に編入された。イカ，メンタイ，ブリ，海藻類の漁獲が多い。襄陽鉄山は施設・採掘量ともに韓国屈指で，採掘された磁鉄鉱は浦項製鉄所（浦項総合製鉄）に送られている。襄陽郡の人口は２万9000人（2005）。
