Thought hearing

...The voices may be heard clearly or vaguely, and may be the same as a normal voice, or an artificial voice or a voice through a machine. When the patient hears what they are thinking as a voice, it is called an audition of thought or thought hearing, and when the patient claims to hear the other person's thoughts rather than a voice, it is called a psychosomatic hallucination. Although the patient may feel strange or abnormal about the hallucinations (hallucinations caused by damage to a part of the brain, such as brainstem hallucinations), many believe them and become frightened, angry, cover their ears, or do as they are told...
