A school of ukiyo-e from the mid-Edo period, founded by Okazawa (Kaigetsu-do) Ando (date of birth and death unknown). It is characterized by strong ink lines that define the shape and the application of rich, lustrous colors. It did not produce prints, but instead painted hand-painted portraits of beautiful women, and became a leading school in early ukiyo-e.
