Kṛṣṇamiśra (English spelling) Krsnamisra

...Other types of rūpas include the prahasana (comedy), a one-act comic farce, and the bhāṇa, a one-act popular monologue performed by a single actor. One of the fragments of a play by Ashvaghosha discovered in Central Asia is called an allegorical play (or metaphorical play), in which religious abstractions are personified. Later, Kṛṣṇiśra (11th century) produced a six-act allegorical play, Prabodhacandrodaya (The Rising of the Moon of Enlightenment), which promoted the doctrine of Vaishnavaism, bringing a new style of drama into vogue.
[actor]
In ancient Indian drama, female actors were extremely rare, and a troupe consisted of male and female actors. The head of the troupe (sūtradhāra) guided the actors and also appeared in the prologue to introduce the author and the contents of the play.
