External martial arts

Geographically, it is divided into two schools: the Southern School, which is centered around Guangdong and Fujian provinces, and the Northern School, which is centered around Hebei and Shandong provinces along the Yellow River. In terms of the nature of the techniques, martial arts can be divided into internal and external schools. Internal martial arts are martial arts whose power is hidden within, and are also called soft martial arts, and include Tai Chi, Xingyiquan, and Baguazhang.
