…After the Second World War, the company lost nine major factories in East Germany and its overseas assets, but later rebuilt factories in West Berlin, Nuremberg, and Stuttgart, and with its traditionally strong overseas orientation, it once again actively expanded its overseas business. In 1966, the company merged with Telefunken AG, a subsidiary that manufactured communications equipment, and changed its name to its current one.
