The Soviet Marine Corps. Total strength: 15,000. One brigade each was deployed to the Northern, Baltic, and Black Sea fleets, and one division to the Pacific fleet. Their main mission was amphibious operations. With the collapse of the Soviet Union, troop strength has changed, but Russia has a policy of placing emphasis on naval infantry forces.
