A general term for "Government and Relief in Occupied Areas" (GARIOA) and "Economic Rehabilitation in Occupied Areas" (EROA). Both were funds or aid given by the United States to occupied territories after World War II. GARIOA was disbursed from the US government budget from 1947 to 1950 (US fiscal years) for the purpose of preventing disease and starvation and eliminating social unrest, thereby facilitating the administration of the occupation.
