GARIOA EROA Fund - GARIOA EROA Fund
A general term for "Government and Relief in Occupied Areas" (GARIOA) and "Economic Rehabilitation in Occupied Areas" (EROA). Both were funds or aid given by the United States to occupied territories after World War II. GARIOA was disbursed from the US government budget from 1947 to 1950 (US fiscal years) for the purpose of preventing disease and starvation and eliminating social unrest, thereby facilitating the administration of the occupation.

〈占領地域統治救済資金Government and Relief in Occupied Areas〉(略称ガリオアGARIOA)と〈占領地域経済復興資金Economic Rehabilitation in Occupied Areas〉(略称エロアEROA)の総称。いずれも第2次大戦後,アメリカが占領地に対して与えた資金ないし援助である。ガリオアは主として疾病・飢餓を防いで社会不安を除き,もって占領行政を円滑ならしめる目的で,アメリカ政府の予算から1947‐50年度(アメリカ会計年度)にかけて支出された。
