[Oratorio-style Passion]
From the mid-17th century onwards, with the rise of dramatic music such as opera and cantata, the "oratorio passion" with instrumental accompaniment began to be composed. The oratorio passion was not only musically brilliant, but also had a distinctive character that had not existed before in terms of the lyrics.
