Constantin Carathéodory
[1873-1950] Greek mathematician. Born in Germany. Moved to Athens, but later became a professor at the University of Munich. He made achievements in a wide range of fields, including the axiomatic development of function theory, the calculus of variations, differential geometry, and isoperimetric problems.
