Born: July 9, 1648 in Schmalenfleth near Oldenburg [Died] July 24/25, 1719, Neuenfelde German organ maker. Along with G. Silbermann, he was one of the greatest organ makers of the German Baroque period, and Bach also had a high regard for his instruments. In 1676, he established a workshop in Neuenfelde near Hamburg, and made about 150 masterpieces, including the organ for St. Jacobi's Church in Hamburg.
