[Horses in North Asia]
The horses of North Asia are Mongolian horses, which are small in size but have great stamina and can easily endure long-distance continuous running. Nomads have traditionally managed the grazing of horses in groups of 10 to 60 horses, each consisting of a gelding (geldings were managed separately during the Mongol Empire), a mare, and her foals, all led by a single stallion. In order to maintain the stallion's leadership and dignity, the mane was not cut.
