A town in Kuze County in the southern part of Kyoto Prefecture. It occupies a large part of the low-lying Oguraike reclaimed land, surrounded by the Uji River and the Kizu River, and is actively cultivated for rice, vegetables, and ornamental plants. With the opening of the Hirakata Bypass on National Route 1, the number of factories moving in has increased significantly. 13.86 km2 . Population: 15,914 (2010).
