Obata - Obata

The central area of ​​Kanra Town, Kanra County, Gunma Prefecture. Formerly Obata Town. During the Edo period, it was a jin'ya town for the Oda and Matsudaira clans, lords of the Obata domain with 20,000 koku of rice. Place names such as Jōmachi, Jōnan, and Goten remain. There is a feudal lord's garden, Rakuzan-en (a nationally designated place of scenic beauty), and samurai residences within the jin'ya. There is also Ogawazeki, one of the "100 Famous Waters of Japan."

群馬県甘楽(かんら)郡甘楽町の中心地区。旧小幡町。江戸時代の小幡藩主織田氏、松平氏2万石の陣屋町で、城町、城南、御殿などの地名が残っている。大名庭園「楽山園」（国指定名勝）や陣屋内に武家屋敷などがある。また「日本名水百選」の雄川堰(おがわぜき)もある。
