Untitled poem from Japan - Honcho Mudaisi

A collection of Chinese poetry from the late Heian period. Ten or three volumes. It was probably compiled between 1162 (Oho 2) and 1164 (Chokan 2). It is a collection of poems other than those with five-character titles. It is classified into the 37th section and contains over 770 poems by 30 poets from the late Heian period. The authors were Fujiwara no Shukou, Tadamichi, Atsumitsu, Mochiakira, Akihira, and other members of the Fujiwara Shikike family and their associates, and it may have been compiled according to the wishes of Fujiwara no Tadamichi. The poems are overwhelmingly seven-character regulated verse, which shows the trends in the poetry world. The world of this work is diverse, covering poetry parties with friends, daily life, yearning for a life in the mountains, and the desire for the coming of Amida Buddha, but it is also valuable in that it shows the seeds of a new literary style, with realistic depictions of local landscapes and vivid portrayals of the lives of ordinary people.
