Sedum vulgare - Sedum vulgare

A perennial plant of the Crassulaceae family (APG classification: Crassulaceae). It grows on stone walls and rocks in various places, and is sometimes planted for decorative purposes. It is thick overall. The stem branches at the base and creeps along the ground, but stands up at the tip. The leaves are 2 to 3 cm long, linear, and arranged in whorls of three. The flowers are small, about 1 cm in diameter, pentamerous, and have yellow petals. It does not bear fruit in Japan.

ベンケイソウ科（APG分類：ベンケイソウ科）の多年草。各地の石垣や岩上に生え、観賞用に植えることもある。全体に質が厚い。茎は基部で分枝して地面をはうが、先のほうは立ち上がる。葉は長さ2～3センチメートル、線形で3枚が輪生する。花は小さく径約1センチメートル、5数性で花弁は黄色。日本では結実をみない。
