A perennial plant of the Crassulaceae family (APG classification: Crassulaceae). It grows on stone walls and rocks in various places, and is sometimes planted for decorative purposes. It is thick overall. The stem branches at the base and creeps along the ground, but stands up at the tip. The leaves are 2 to 3 cm long, linear, and arranged in whorls of three. The flowers are small, about 1 cm in diameter, pentamerous, and have yellow petals. It does not bear fruit in Japan.
