Born on June 6, 1875. While teaching at Waseda University and other institutions, he published "Human Geography" in 1926. In 1930, he became a consultant to the Ministry of Education, and founded the Local Education Federation with Odaka Hosaku and others. He devoted himself to local geography research and the local education movement. After the war, he became a professor at the Kunitachi College of Music. He passed away on December 4, 1954, at the age of 79. He was from Akita Prefecture and graduated from a higher normal school. His maiden name was Tadokoro.
