Kyogendate - Kyogendate

Japanese: 狂言立て - きょうげんだて

The order of the kyogen plays performed in a day at a Kabuki performance. In Edo theaters from the Genroku period (1688-1704) to the early Kansei period (1789-1801), the ceremonial bandachi (Sanbaso) and waki-kyogen (the kyogen plays of each theater) were performed first, followed by the first and second kyogen plays, which were unified into one world. The first kyogen (jidaimono) was performed in the order of opening, second act, third act (which is generally considered to correspond to today's first prologue, but in ehon banzuke it is depicted starting from the second act), fourth act, fifth act, and final act.

歌舞伎の興行における一日の狂言の並べ方。元禄期(1688‐1704)から寛政(1789‐1801)初年までの，江戸の劇場では，まず儀式的な番立（ばんだち）(三番叟)，脇狂言(各座の家の狂言)に続いて，一つの世界に統一された一番目狂言と二番目狂言が続けて上演される。一番目狂言(時代物)は序開（じよびらき），二建目（ふたたてめ），三建目(通説では今日の一番目の序幕にあたるとされているが，絵本番付では二建目から描かれている)，四建目，五建目，大詰と上演される。
