Emperor Saga's villa. It was located in what is now Oyamazaki-cho, Kyoto Prefecture. It was built in the scenic foothills of the Yodo River, north of Kawayo, and was used as a base for hunting in Minase and other places. It later fell into disrepair, and in 861 it became a building for the Yamashiro provincial government office, on the condition that it could be used when the Emperor visited and that the imperial name would continue to be preserved. In 908 it was handed over completely to Yamashiro Province. Source : Heibonsha Encyclopedia About MyPedia Information |
