…Sadachika was skilled in waka poetry, linked poetry, and horseback archery. He also served as a close aide to the shogun for many years, and served as the head magistrate of the palace and the head stablemaster. As a result, he was well versed in the ceremonies of the samurai court and played a major role in forming the Ise style, which was respected as the model for samurai ceremonies in later generations. In his later years, he wrote a set of 38 teachings for his son Sadamune, called the Ise Sadachika Teachings, which contain detailed instructions on the things one should pay attention to in the court, such as political knowledge and matters related to writing cards.
