"It Happened One Night" - Aruyo's Events

Born in Sicily. In the 1930s, he teamed up with screenwriter Robert Riskin to produce "Lady for a Day" (1933), "It Happened One Night" (1934), "The Opera Hat" (1936), starring Gary Cooper and Jean Arthur, "The Crowd" (1941), "The Opera Hat" (1938), starring James Stewart and Jean Arthur, and "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington" (1939). These "New Deal comedies" depicted the triumph of goodwill of ordinary citizens as "modern fairy tales" and optimistically sung the "American Dream." He won the Academy Award for Best Director three times in four years ("It Happened One Night," "The Opera Hat," and "The Opera Hat"), becoming one of the leading directors of American films. He is known as one of the "four great comedians" of silent cinema alongside Chaplin, Lloyd and Keaton, and as the director of the slapstick comedy Harry's First Love (1927), considered Harry Langdon's masterpiece, and the black humor comedy Poison and Lace (1944).
