Year of birth: Year of birth unknown. Military commander in the Warring States period. Lord of Kuroi (Hogetsu) Castle in Tanba Province (Hikami County, Hyogo Prefecture). Son of Akai Tokiie, a local lord of Tanba. Akuemon, Saimaru. In January 1554, he killed Ogino Akikiyo and became the lord of Kuroi Castle. He expanded his influence into Tanba Province, and later allied with Hatano Hideharu and others. In August 1565, he fought against Naito Bizennokami, the deputy governor of Tanba, and killed him. In October of the same year, he fought against Matsunaga Hisahide and others at Nagasakaguchi in Kyoto together with Hatano Harumichi, and in November 1571, he fought against Yamana Sukehiro (Suketoyo), who had invaded Tanba Province. When a large army of Akechi Mitsuhide invaded under the orders of Oda Nobunaga, Naomasa continued to resist with Hideharu and others, and in September 1575 (Tensho 3), he carried out a plan to lure Mitsuhide's army to Kuroi Castle, where he attacked them from both sides and defeated them. However, Mitsuhide's attacks continued, and Kuroi Castle finally fell on August 19, 1576. It is said that Naomasa had died in the castle from a facial boil in March 1577.

戦国時代の武将。丹波国黒井(保月)城(兵庫県氷上郡)城主。丹波国人赤井時家の子。悪右衛門,才丸。天文23(1554)年1月,荻野秋清を殺害して黒井城主となる。丹波国に勢威を拡大し,のち波多野秀治らと連合する。永禄8(1565)年8月,丹波守護代内藤備前守と戦いこれを斬る。同年10月,波多野晴通と共に京都長坂口で松永久秀らと合戦,元亀2(1571)年11月には,丹波国内に攻めてきた山名韶煕(祐豊)と戦っている。織田信長の命により惟任(明智)光秀の大軍が押し寄せると,秀治らと抵抗を続け,天正3(1575)年9月光秀軍を黒井城におびき寄せる作戦を実行,これを挟撃,撃退した。しかし光秀軍の攻撃はこののちも続き,黒井城は同7年8月19日ついに落城。直正はそれに先立つ6年3月,面疔のため城中で死去したという。
